Cheers, Good Omens!

Ever find a book that works for you on every level? When I first discovered Neil Gaiman, it was with Neverwhere and I devoured every other book of his I could find. I had already been a fan of Terry Pratchett's hilariously clever (and often poignantly truthful) Discworld series, so when the two of them worked together to bring a book to life--as opposed to the Necronomicon--then I know I'll be hooked.

And I was.

My copy became well-loved and well-worn. A bought copies for friends and (eventually) my kids to read as well. When there was news of an adaption for television, I was both thrilled and nervous: Would they get it right? (As the adaptation of Neverwhere had proved, done horribly wrong, but offset by the incredible radio play.) Who would they cast? What gems would they keep and cut? So many reasons to doubt and yet I couldn't stay away so when Good Omens came out on Amazon, there I was: hooked again! And, delightfully, so were my kids!

So as a gift to my eldest who adored the books and the show, I managed to piece together a special LEGO Aziraphale & Crowley. (Maybe the best present I ever gave them besides life itself.)

Sometimes, the best stories can exceed your expectations!
